There was a very rare case on being alone home in a place ,which was previously very noisy to get some very stunning and near noise free receptions on 11.1.21 in parts of the HF band.LInk goes to the HF part logging.
Each recording was limited to 2-3 minutes with TOHs in the center time -aimed only to listen for IDs. the whole work resulted of 5 IQ files : 2 files for 5.8-8 MHz, the remain for MWbans
Data mining on the 2 SW files yielded around 3 hours of work.It is already posted in WordPress with two screenshots and 80 frequencies A very serious reason to quit mining the MW band with 131 or more frequencies, And just post the screenshots with some basic comments
System consists of:
-2x16 m Λ / 3x9 delta antennas, the best results for MW were made with the Λ antenna
-RSP1a as band DSP processor
-SDRPlay with MW preset for Play
-3/2 MHz bandwidth if SDRConsole is used for SW/MW respectively
-Heating radiator with 1.5mm wire for grounding .
-IQ navigator-scheduler ) of SDRConsole. I rarely used it before. Knew the instant recorder.
-bandwidth aligned and in programs 'favorites' pane
Photos are just posted with limited info/ Notice that the times in big letters show UTC+2 ie local time!
----------------
855 R Romania Actualitata is one of the strongest signals in the band Some navtex on 518
Many Greek pirates in the X band
Possibly no change in the band except in the Xband
Uisng the SDRplay's IQ file It truncates the width and lowers end's efficiency
Again SDRplay preset bandwidth
---------
This is the final photo on the next day on 07z time . Its very interesting that the band even in the early morning at 9am can be useful for some remote signal monitoring with stations mostly from Romania
Comments are very highly appreciated
That means: expecting your comments !
Mr. Liang: An interesting project, and an incredible amount of work. I'm curious, it is difficult to see the noise floor value in the image you posted that shows the 5800-6500 kHz band. Is it 125dBm? Curt - N6ATC
ReplyDeleteAs you can see the noise level in the WP page (link in the end of first paragraph)it is upcurved towards the middles with minimum of -120dbm at the edges with maximum of -113dbm
DeleteIn order to watch the picture for better detail you can right click the photo and open on a new tab then zoom as much as you can.
very nice in deed
ReplyDeletethank you!
