Results from the DX quiz

And now the results of the quiz (last posting Oct 24 , 2013)

As you know  on  the end of September 2013 I have made a  quiz with 3 questions . The questions  are the following  :

#1 : listening to  a distant  station as  RTM Sarawak 9835. Its  distance to Thesaloniki is ca 9000 km  with main signals of S7 with minima of S2 and maxima of S9. Listning for 1-2 hours per day with main SINPO 34233 do to local QRN .DX or listening?
Sample : http://www.ipernity.com/doc/zliangas/26766823    finally this web system stoped on 2020

#2 : Listening  to MW local relays of national  radio station that require only MW loops to be  heard. and mostly for news.  DX or listening?
sample http://www.ipernity.com/doc/zliangas/26766819   computer noise is included [using 1103 and basketena 1404  ERA komotini , 300 km distance ]
#3: Listening to a [greek] pirate of S6 max on local nights. Daylight reception requires MW loops and still with strong  local noise .DX or listening on evening /night??

[canibal on 846 of the question with 1 kW of power - closed down on 2016?   ]

I think that these 3   questions  are  simple and self explaining. HOwever    2 mates (and top   DXers)   denied to  reply  after email contact . One of them found   this quiz was  quite complicated and still was confused after a  second follow up  email  with more clarifications . The second mate  (and also good  mate to me ) just  denied to follow the rules [a red herring behaviour as  we still have a neal daily communication ]....

The quiz has been posted  in 3 email lists and  about 9 DX groups in Facebook Several DXers have been contacted via Facebook or email  . Finally I have received ONLY 12 replies !!!
Ths is why i call DXers as 'idiots'

The results are as follows: (without my comment )
Question 1 (far station long time DX ):  11 DX and one SWL
Question 2 (national radio relay): 4 DX , 7 listening , 1 no answer
Question 3 (24/7 pirate )  : 10 DX  2 listening

And here is my comment :

Question 1: I think that  listening to R Sarawak  for so long time  can be something between  sw-ling and  DX ing . As the station  can be heard  regularly  and for more than 6  hrs per day this can’t be  real DXing  as this is not a difficult to listen station. This happened till tis September.  On October the signal lowered to ca  7 max [due to  lower solar snspots or beucause they lowered their signal ]

Question 2:  ERA’s local  relay on 1404kHz (ERA Komotini as per recording)   can’t be heard indoors  without using a loop on days or noons . For this reason I can’t think it is an  easy listening. For later  times ie nights  it is surely an easy listening though this  freq  suffers from strong QRM [from R Romania Actualitata]  after 15or 1600 GMT

Question 3: the Greek pirate Cannibal in question on 846 kHz , transmits 24 h a day with  1 kW of power (reduced from the normal of 3 kW ) .They can be heard  regularly  every night (after 9 pm ) this period with signals  up to S5-6  . During noons as tested several times with the basketena the signal is marginal .Local QRN though of S1 level blanks out Canibal . Therefore  for me noon reception is either  'very hardcore listening' (HCDX) or just jokingly 'nonsense  to listen'. I feel  that in other times , esp afternoon or night reception can be just normal listening at least for my ears !!...

What do you think ?
